At the Patriotic Music Concert
We all watch the musicians
breathe music
into their clarinets, tubas, and flutes
as we pray for our own cool breeze.

Yesterday, we went to a Patriotic Music Concert in one of the city parks. We heard a lot of classics, from Sousa to Irving Berlin, performed by a municipal band. Even at 7:00 PM, the sun was still going strong and we had to re-position our lawn chairs to escape the heat. Then, I noticed that every time a breeze blew through the crowd, the whole audience breathed just a bit deeper and relaxed into the songs. It was just a little moment from the trip, which I guess what this practice is all about.
